The BetterCallClaude Association exists to give legal professionals across Europe access to powerful AI tools that they can trust, audit, and control.
We develop open-source plugins that connect large language models to authoritative legal databases — covering national jurisprudence, legislation, and legal commentary — without requiring users to surrender their data or their independence.
Vision
By 2028.
A Europe where every lawyer — from a solo practitioner in Palermo to a partner in Zurich — has access to the same quality of legal AI infrastructure, built in the open, governed by the community.

Open Source Values
AGPL-3.0 is not a technical detail. It is a statement of values.
Data Sovereignty
Your queries, your clients, your workflows. We do not collect telemetry by default. Our infrastructure runs on European servers. You can run the MCP servers locally.
Community Governance
Members vote on strategic decisions. The roadmap is public. Changes of significant impact go through an open RFC process before implementation.
No Vendor Lock-In
The plugins connect to open legal databases via open protocols. You are never dependent on a single provider. If we cease to exist, the code lives on under AGPL-3.0.
Professional Independence
We do not take money from legal tech platforms with a commercial interest in influencing our direction. Sponsors are disclosed publicly and have no editorial control.
